Discover Outlook.com Microsoft has just unveiled Outlook.com, the successor to the Hotmail email service. Discover this new webmail, which includes many practical features. If you already have an @hotmail.fr or @hotmail.com email address, you can use Outlook.com directly with your existing address and retrieve all your messages and contacts. And if you would like to create your own @outlook.com address, that’s also possible! Outlook.com is a free online email service accessible from any web browser, anywhere. You can access it directly if you have a Hotmail, Live, or MSN account. Otherwise, you will need to create an account. The process is, of course, free. Using Outlook.com for basic operations is no different from other email software or webmail services. You will quickly find your way around to read and send messages. With Outlook.com, you can easily create as many separate email addresses as you wish. All messages sent to these different addresses will appear directly in your single inbox. This allows you to have one email address for shopping, another for professional activities, and so on. You can also choose which address to use when sending your messages. To manage attachments larger than 25 MB, Outlook.com relies on SkyDrive, Microsoft’s cloud storage service, which offers 25 GB of free storage. So when you want to send a large file to friends, Outlook.com uploads the file to your SkyDrive and sends the download link to your recipients. A new feature called “Ranger” has also been introduced, allowing you to clean up your messages and keep your inbox organized. This feature provides various tools to easily create new rules, such as automatically moving messages from a specific sender to a particular folder or keeping only the most recent message from a contact (which can be useful for newsletters you subscribe to). Finally, social media users can follow activity from their Facebook or Twitter accounts directly within Outlook.com.
